"Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Kaya.
Erin, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Chicago Abstract Artist in love with working with paint! Oil and acrylic on canvas, marbling, and photography. I’m a free spirit who loves to dream, who wants the unreachable.
I’ve been painting and drawing my entire life. Traveling throughout Europe, Turkey, Israel, and Africa for three years, I was introduced to and experienced their cultured and artistic methods.
Painting and creating are my therapy, my passion, a piece of my soul. I can’t always say how I feel but I try to express it through my work. Painting is a way to let me stop analyzing or stressing. Just relax and release my inner thoughts. Everyday objects intrigue me, looking beyond the form and seeing the abstract. My favorite paintings are always the ones I don’t remember painting, I’m someplace else.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My passion is paint. I love painting large! The larger the better. I always paint on canvas and use a variety of different kinds of paint. I drip paint, throw paint, use large and small brushes.
When you see my work up close, I want you to see the paint moving, the details of the strokes, the layers of paint and then back away from the piece to see a new world. A place you may like to visit, an amazing world you see when looking down out of an airplane.
What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success to me is having a passion for what you do and believing in yourself that others will be inspired by what you do. They will enjoy your work and come back for more."
